Successful Vaginal Delivery of Persistent Brow Presentation -A Case Report-

Abstract

|
Persistent brow presentation is one of the most rarely encounted presentations even in the busiest obstetricians. Incidende of brow presentation is not always consistent with reporters ranging from 1 in 700 deliveries. Dr. DeCosta pointed out that part of this discrepancy might be due to the failure sometimes to distinguish between brow and persistent brow presentation. In total series of 7,876 deliveries in our institution, this is the first case of persistent brow presentation at term delivered vaginally. It is our purpose to present thes rare experience and to review literatures regarding the incidence, etiology, diagnasis, progress of labor, method of delivery and prognosis.
